National Expansion Project
Marie Stopes Society has embarked on an expansion of its services in Pakistan. Under its National Expansion Project (2007 – 2012), the MSS geographical spread will increase to include 58 new centers in 58 districts ensuring access and utilization of high quality reproductive health services to the underserved.
These services will be supported by a large-scale, culturally appropriate behavioral change and communication (BCC) initiative to increase awareness and drive demand for services.
Marie Stopes Society is adopting innovative initiatives to implement its Expansion project:
Output Based Aid (OBA)
Piloting of an Output Based Aid (OBA) system for poor women and men to receive free/subsidized services through a network of accredited Private Providers.
Partnership with Private Public Providers
Accrediting more than 300 Private Providers across the country and increasing referrals between Marie Stopes Society (MSS), Government Lady Health Volunteers & workers to increase access of underserved populations to high quality Reproductive Health services.
Mobile Service Units (MSU)
Taking reproductive health services to thinly and scattered populated rural Pakistan through eight mobile service units.
Community Based Distribution (CBD)
Implementing the female Community Based Distribution (CBD) initiative to the newly-opened 58 centers - reaching women with reproductive health information and services at their door steps.

Improvising the MSS Toll Free facility (0800 22 333) by introducing 24/7 doctor’s availability and expanding its referral network.
Website
Launching a bi lingual website on ‘Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights’ for the youth. The website, called SRH Matters.org, will provide online counseling and referrals to MSS through gender sensitive and youth-friendly health professionals.
